Step into Spring with Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping at the 55th Annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show as they participate in saluting springtime and 55 years of garden excellence Saturday, March 9 through Sunday, March 17 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion & Expo Hall. Stonycreek Farm will be among the 41 feature exhibitors who will each design and display a showcase garden at Indiana’s finer outdoor living show for gardening enthusiasts.

JPEG-garden-indiana-flower-and-patio-showThe theme of the 2013 Indiana Flower & Patio Show is “It’s Elemental!” exploring the 5 basic elements of nature:  earth, wood, metal, fire and water. Each designer will incorporate uses of these elements within their featured spaces and implement a conservation element, relevant to today’s living environments …to give Mother Earth the extra boost she needs to continue to thrive for many generations to come!

This year’s Stonycreek exhibitor garden will feature eco-friendly elements such as recycled materials and drought resistant plants and trees that can be incorporated into outdoor living spaces. With Indiana’s recent drought conditions, a self-sustaining drip watering system will be showcased for efficient landscaping. As a result of last summer’s drought, for the first time in 40 years, Stonycreek Farm germinated pumpkins in greenhouses in preparation for their 40th Annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival in October. Thanks to a proactive germination program, the seedlings were then planted in the field and maintained with a water truck, providing a bountiful yield despite extreme drought conditions.

The show offers a Blow-Out Sale the final Sunday (5-6:30 p.m.) with great savings on plant materials, hardscapes, structures, decorative pieces and more. About Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping:

What began as a small pumpkin patch in 1972 has grown into a full-service nursery and landscaping business. Named after the creek, which meanders through its property, Stonycreek was a Native American trade route in the 1860s and the site of an old gristmill. Steeped in great American history, still standing on the old farmstead are the original house, the bank barn, blacksmith shop and buggy barn. Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping is located two mile east of Noblesville at 11366 State Road 38 East, 46060. For more information, call (317) 773-3344 or visit www.stonycreekfarm.net.

Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping participates in the Indiana Flower and Patio Show for the 21st time

Noblesville, IN – Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping is participating in the 53rd annual Indiana Flower & Patio Show, held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion, March 12-20.

More than 40 breathtaking Showcase & Exhibitors’ Feature Gardens will depict the “Neighborhood Block Party!” theme. This year, landscape designers were asked to select from among some of the most popular, beloved and historic neighborhoods or communities in the Indianapolis area. “Noblesville” will be depicted in this year’s Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping Showcase Garden. Some of the other garden themes include “Broad Ripple”, “Meridian Hills”, “Village of West Clay”, and “Lockerbie Square.” More than 62,000 of the building’s 171,000 square feet will be devoted to these magnificent gardens. Visitors will marvel at displays featuring thousands of springtime flowers and trees in full bloom, as well as imaginative water and fire features, hardscape designs, ingenious small-space garden roundabouts and planted meridians.

This year will mark her 24th season in business and the 21st year that Stonycreek has been an exhibitor at the Indiana Flower and Patio Show. Stonycreek continues to participate because this outdoor living show is a great way for people to personally see, smell and touch their project work. Loren says,

“People who are attending the show generally have an interest in gardening and landscaping, so that helps to start the conversation about potential project work. Nearly all of our leads for the season are generated at the Flower and Patio Show. Typically people will register for a consultation at our booth.”

“It’s not uncommon for us to end up with clusters of customers in the neighborhood where the initial project work takes place. Neighbors will see a Stonycreek sign or truck in their neighbor’s yard, view the work that we’ve done, and then call for a consultation.”

Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping focuses on meeting customer needs – whether it’s by developing an outdoor living space, installing a water feature, or planting a buffer from neighbors and traffic – Stonycreek can handle projects of nearly any size. Landscape designers provide an initial consultation that helps to define a client’s specific needs and likes/dislikes. Many times the customer will provide a concept only to discover new possibilities. One of Stonycreek Farm’s strengths is the depth and breadth of their creative, seasoned team of designers who work closely with clients to develop the best solutions to meet their tastes, needs and budget.

In addition to being a full-service landscape and nursery, Stonycreek Farm hosts an annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival, which just celebrated its 38th year. The Farm also presents a Country Christmas celebration which features visits from Santa, a holiday gift shop, and hayrides to the field for fresh tree cutting. Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping landscape designers and key staff will be onsite at Garden #7 throughout the entire show and Loren will most likely be in the Garden every evening and during the weekends. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. General admission at the door is $12 adult; children 12 and under are free. Three-dollars-off discount coupons are available here. Tickets can also be purchased on-line ($12 adult), with buyers receiving a complimentary one-year subscription to Better Homes & Gardens. Parking is $3 per vehicle.
